ARTIST STATEMENT

I’m an oil painter interested in color relationships.  I’ve developed an architecture in the pictorial space that I hang my lush colors on, showing both the chroma and my emotional reactions. 

Recently, I’ve noticed a sense of spirituality or the metaphysical seeping into my art, along with an element of surrealism.  The result leaves the viewer with feelings of serenity and otherworldliness.

BIO

Jon Rowe took drawing and painting classes in Washington, D.C. before moving to New York in 1989 where he studied life drawing at the National Academy of Design and figure painting at Brooklyn College

Jon lives and paints in Port Chester, New York.
